Don’t get me wrong, I got a lot accomplished. I practically finished sewing a first communion dress, I finally found all the pieces of border on the 1000 piece puzzle I’m working on, cleaned house, laundered all the shirts in my husband’s closet that looked they had only been worn once, and restrung lights on one of my favorite metal art pieces. I didn’t get out much the entire weekend, just a shopping trip to Tropical Accents, the post office and once to The Big Store. These trips didn’t require shampooing my hair, just grabbed a baseball cap and off I went. Bohemian life would suit me just fine I think. Falling asleep on the sofa, with Maezy at my side, waking up around midnight to go to bed.
I don’t know who’s more afraid of the “last night” pee trip down the back stairs – Me or Maezy. We make a lot of noise to scare off whatever might be looming about in the dark and we don’t waste our time.
Sunday and church required shampooing – that’s okay, it didn’t kill me. I’m sure my friends appreciated my efforts toward cleanliness. I think being a recluse is fun every once in a while, after all, I had Maezy to talk to – she doesn’t talk back.

GO’s Sand Bucket is only one beach bum’s journal of life at the beach, probably something each of you can relate to. Please feel free to email me with your thoughts, visions and/or feelings of just exactly what the beach means to you.
