The Bolivar Peninsula Cultural Foundation announced the winners of the Light Up Bolivar Lighthouse decorating contest. The concrete lighthouses that have been decorated around Bolivar show the unique spirit of our peninsula. Lighthouses are symbols of strength and certainly represent the individuality of the land they protect. The best designed lighthouses in each of the sizes, 6 foot and 3 foot, are adorned with paint, tile, mosaic, and many other creative elements. First Place was awarded $100 and Second Place received $50, as well as a plaque. Congratulations to the winners and thank you for sharing your artistic talents.
