Do you believe in Reincarnation? It’s where someone or something begins a new life in a new body that may be human, animal or spiritual. It could be a pet you’re very close to who seems so human they may have been a human in a past lifetime. Too weird? I want to believe in reincarnation only if we return as something better, or equally as great as where we originated.
Okay, here’s where I’m going with this, and believe me, I’ve thought about it lately. I want to come back as Pinky …
Pinky is our pink dolphin swimming and frolicking out there in the Bay between Bolivar and Galveston. She seems so carefree and fun to be with. I believe that she is protected by her Mom and maybe another relative because she’s always with at least one other dolphin. I’ve actually read that because she’s different, she will be protected all her life.
We saw her over a year ago. I was standing at the side of the Ferry on the way back over from Galveston, just minding my own business. With a young boy standing near me, all of a sudden out of nowhere, three dolphins rolled in the surf, Pinky in the middle. I gasped and said out loud, “did you see that pink dolphin?” The boy looks at me, very matter of fact, and says, “ma’am, I’m sure you thought it was pink, but actually, it was probably the sun sparkling off his skin.” Well, I never!! Youngsters these days can be so disrespectful!
Anyway, different and carefree, that’s what I hope to be, if indeed reincarnation really happens. What about you??
GO’s Sand Bucket is only one beach bum’s journal of life at the beach, probably something each of you can relate to. Please feel free to email me with your thoughts, visions and/or feelings of just exactly what the beach means to you.
