Everyone please take a moment to congratulate Ruthann and the entire Emergency Medical Service D-shift from Sunday on the successful Ground Search and Rescue event. They successfully found an 8 year old autistic child that had gone missing during the night time hours. Ruthann and Chris Reviere set up the incident command and involved GCSO, CBVFD, PBVFD, HIVFD, US Coast Guard, EquaSearch, and citizens in the search. The child was found in a swimming pool in good health. “This is the reason why we go above and beyond just being medics,” said Frank DeMarco, EMS Operations Supervisor, “the training and knowledge that the on-duty GSAR team members received provided them the knowledge and abilities to conduct a proper GSAR event, which led to a successful recovery.” Great job to everyone involved yesterday.
