Next time you’re on the way to the ferry, take time to stop by Batina Osborne’s Beach Time store. Beach Time is on the left side of the Highway by Bolivar Storage – it used to be Pop’s. Enjoying my freshly brewed Salted Caramel coffee from the coffee bar, I first noticed the lovely Christmas gift baskets on the counter – very reasonable custom-made baskets. As I roamed the store, I found not only a seating area for adults, but a fun little nook for children. I found children’s books and stuffed animals, beach furniture and children’s furniture. Don’t forget to get your local honey, Batina gathers the honey herself from their property located beach side behind the store. Fig jams, mango and pineapple salsas, Blue Bell Ice Cream sodas and floats, and waffles, what a treat!
You can give Batina a call at 832-425-7609,
or email Beachtime.Expressions@yahoo.com
Batina is a Lamar graduate and retired school teacher, who taught in Galveston and before that, in Santa Fe. She and her husband have been at the beach since 1999, and both children graduated from High Island High School.
