The Crab Festival Committee is planning to make a commemorative quilt containing each of the T-shirt designs from the 1st to the 30th year of the Texas Crab Festival, and offer as a Silent Auction item at next year’s festival. Committee Chairperson Sid Jackson explains, “Our goal is to have it made from the actual t-shirts. I realize that we may not be able to come up with all of the t-shirts. Hopefully, we can come up with a copy of the design for the missing years.” Currently, they have located t-shirts from the following years: 1995, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2008, 2009 (Bolivar is back), 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014.
“If you have a shirt for the missing years (1986 to 1994, 1996 to 2000, 2003 and 2004), but want to keep it and not donate it for the quilt, please allow us to get a picture of the design so we can have it put on a piece of material to be used in the quilt.”
