This 4th of July was quite the event here in Bolivar and Crystal Beach. Huge crowds gathered on the beach all week, especially on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Longtime homeowner, Luke Motley says, “I have never seen crowds this large!” Of course we’d all love to travel to the beach for fun in the sun, fireworks, grilled goodies, games, and all sorts of fun with family and friends. And this year the weather was prime! Beautiful skies were accompanied by a calm surf. Many, many people lined the beach from the break of dawn until the wee hours of the next morning, soaking in the sun and preparing for the magnificent fireworks shows up and down the coast when it turned dark. Hope you made it to help celebrate this 4th of July at the beach…we’ll see you again next year!

Huge crowds lined the beach for miles

You had to set up early...this photo taken at 6:30 am on Friday morning

Great fireworks shows each night
Seaweed! Does the County have a schedule for pushing our seaweed to the dunes? On Saturday – the seaweed was bad…really, bad. Being a long holiday weekend – I would think this side of Galveston county would be cleaned of seaweed everyday.
A large HOORAY for the sub divisions that got their home owners together to bless us with the greatest fire works displays….their joint efforts paid off. Thanks for the great Fourth!!!! Crystal Beach you have it love it here!
