In the 80’s, I started commuting from League City to downtown Houston. In the beginning when you got to loop 610 you saw the green/yellow fog line over the city. I made this drive for 26 years and every year the line came closer to the gulf coast. What has brought this to my attention is the beautiful blue sky here in the eastern mountains. We who live on the gulf coast have become used to seeing this sky, in fact, we see the sunset over the refineries and think it is beautiful. Here in the mountains, where there are no refineries, the sunrises and sunsets are unbelievable, the blue sky is really blue.
Now that I have said that, let me tell you about a sign I saw in a truck window yesterday. It had a man kneeling at a cross and the message was “a retired coalminer”. Just a little food for thought.
