Super Bowl Sunday

By Georgia Osten
I really enjoyed the Super Bowl Sunday evening. I had no preference on who would win, but I was going to wear Orange to fit in with the crowd. We were planning to go to our daughter’s house to watch the game, and they are all die-hard Bronco Fans. With the fog, rain and the timing, getting off the peninsula, making sure you get the 9 o’clock ferry, we decided to forego the trip and stay home. Not to mention, go figure, Academy doesn’t sell anything but Texas teams’ jerseys. The Seattle Seahawks certainly took charge. No stress, just amazed and feeling a little sorry for Denver. I had so much fun clicking my cell phone off and on to see the fun comments on Facebook. My favorite was:

Peyton, if you were my little boy, I would have snatched you right out of that game

Half-Time was wonderful. I was so proud of my friend who was the only one in her group of Super Bowlers who knew who Bruno Mars was! And the Red Hot Chili Peppers, all I could think about while watching them was how many clothes they had on and especially (oh my goodness) visualizing “that poster!” As the game progressed, I found myself doing necessary things during the game so I could make it back for the commercials. Perfect timing for taking the dog out, starting dinner, loading another load of laundry, even putting clean sheets on the bed! I don’t think I missed one commercial, I giggled at most of them, but my favorite was the Budweiser commercial with the puppy. How do they get those horses to do that?? Anyway, I hope your favorite team won. Let’s hope we get some Texas team in next year – I know where we can get some really nice jerseys!

GO’s Sand Bucket is only one beach bum’s journal of life at the beach, probably something each of you can relate to. Please feel free to email me with your thoughts, visions and/or feelings of just exactly what the beach means to you.
