Duke University Talent Identification Program (TIP) is a global leader in identifying academically gifted students and providing them with innovative programming to support their development. TIP identifies gifted children and provides resources to nurture the development of these exceptionally bright youngsters. The Duke TIP Academy for Summer Studies offers an exceptional academic and social experience for those students who are among the top 5 percent of academically talented students in their grade level. Students in this program will experience challenging coursework and build friendships with other academically gifted peers. Only students who qualify at the Academy level are eligible for Academy courses. Caitlyn Jackson and Paige Eaton were in the top 5 percent. The program consists of a month long workshop for each girl. Caitlyn has been offered the workshop at Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina and Paige will be attending Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. Caitlyn and Paige were asked to visit the Bolivar Peninsula Lions Club at their bi-monthly meeting on Thursday night. BPLC has offered to assist the girls in fund raising to meet their goals. To get them started, BPLC is pictured presenting a check for $250 to each student.
