Longtime surf fishing expert King “Sonny” Wong, Larry Johnson, and Jerry Riddle edged Mike Comeaux, Charlie Chan, and flatfish guru Dewey Jones by one shot in the Sunday Scramble at the Ranch. Shannon O’Brien and Jason Pettit finished third, one shot ahead of head golf pro Mike Mitchell and Joe Corona.
Following the scramble, Mitchell, Jones, Comeaux, and Mike VanZandt picked up one skin each and shut out Shannon O’Brien in the skins game. Dewey Jones has found new length off the tee to compliment his deadly putting. O’Brien, who has yet to shake the dust off his golf game since the holiday season, shot a trifecta Sunday afternoon with 3-4s, 3-5s, and 3-6s for a not so nifty 45 which tied Mike Mitchell. Michael Comeaux’s 41 led the skins game scoring.
